Context of the role

BDO Consultancy is working to source and secure a talented Solution Architect. While this position is remote, you will be required to go into the office or client site at least one day per week.

The ideal candidate with be knowledgeable, credible and passionate, capable of bringing multiple teams together under a shared vision. You will use your strong communication skills and collaborative style to advise on the future architecture of the system, instilling best practice and ownership amongst the teams, and conduct thorough assessments on the software, review existing architecture to deliver improvements.

Alongside the technical knowledge, we need someone who understands the principles of leadership, and is able to bring a diverse group of people together and work towards ambitious goals.

 

Key Skills

  • Proven solution Architecture background/experience
  • Experience of Architecture Frameworks (eg TOGAF)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence and the ability to network with, negotiate with, and influence a wide range of people with different backgrounds, responsibilities and motivations.
  • Significant experience of Software Delivery Lifecycle, specifically analysis, architecture and design
  • Ability to present complex technical solutions to all levels of colleagues both internal and external to IT
  • Able to work in a multidisciplinary environment and be a good team player.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, accurate and thorough; delivering high quality output to tight deadlines.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Shape the IT solutions that directly contribute to the objectives and strategy.
  • Providing technical leadership and support to IT colleagues and other parts of the business
  • Influence all levels of the business
  • Shaping the IT estate of now with designs and also the future with roadmaps.
  • Work within defined timescales of a project and to the agreed quality standards.
  • Technology, Supplier and 3rd party software evaluations
  • Continuously develop the Solution Architecture for Project
  • Respond to business function needs
  • Ensure the roadmap alignment to EA principles and governance processes
  • Ensure risks and issues are raised throughout the life cycle
  • Develop solution acceptance criteria
  • Ensure solutions meet the security standards
