Context of the role

BDO Consultancy is recruiting for an apprentice Agile Software Tester to join our London Office. Initially you will be working on a major programme of work based in London and much of the work will be remote at first due to the pandemic. The apprenticeship will be London-based. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter to join an innovative, fast growing IT and Management Consultancy organisation, carrying out tests to make sure that solution works as intended and is fit for purpose

The role is to ensure that software operates as intended, designing test plan and test strategy, and executing test cases and test scripts. Testers will verify that expected result of test matches the actual results and where this is not the case, raise defects. They will have a knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodology.

 

 

 

Competencies include:

  • Implementing software testing strategy on software applications such as web applications and mobile apps, ensuring that issues are identified, recorded, prioritised, and fixed before release to production.
  • Reviewing business and system requirements for software functionality, defining comprehensive tests and conditions.
  • Designing test strategies and approach for projects and programmes
  • Designing and building test cases, test scripts, and test procedures, with test conditions and expected results.
  • Preparing test data and simulating test scenarios
  • Involved in System testing, Integration testing, Functional and Non- Functional testing, Stress Testing, Performance Testing, Usability Testing, business Acceptance testing, Regression testing and Exploratory testing and supporting TDD and BBD
  • Assesses test results against expected results and acceptance criteria and through traceability to requirements.
  • Collaborating with delivery team and business using collaboration tools
  • Use testing tools effectively and follows procedures and techniques correctly.
