Context of the role
BDO Consultancy is currently seeking an enthusiastic Communications Manager in London, specifically within the Marketing and Communication team. The Communications Manager will own the communications campaigns for a portfolio of strategic Accounts, supporting internal and external communications across our Delivery teams in addition to communications for our Client audience.
The successful candidate will develop digital strategies and execute multiple and varied communications activities that comply with our marketing guidelines and policy. The role will report into the Head of Communications and will work hand in hand with the Operations teams to create appropriate business and people centric content in a professional, innovative formats that supports internal community engagement.
Key Skills
- At least 3 years’ experience in Communications, Digital Marketing or Employer Branding/Employee Relations
- Fluent spoken and written English [mandatory]
- Working knowledge of SharePoint, PowerPoint and all Microsoft Office applications, Yammer, Canva [or equivalent graphic and video editing tools]
- Strong proof-reading skills with an eye for detail coupled with the ability to customize content to suit different audiences
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders of all levels
- A keen eye for compelling visual content when producing and designing communications items
- Comfortable working in a complex, matrix organisation managing multiple senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to work under pressure
- The ability to operate effectively and independently in an environment of constant change and to tight deadlines
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with Business Engagement Lead & Business Development managers, lead the creation of strategy for all partners and customers.
- Support the Business Engagement Lead with creating strategy for key campaigns.
- Together with the Business Engagement Lead & Business Development managers, organise and prioritise the work of the assigned digital media officer.
- Be responsible for the implementation of the digital elements (including employee advocacy) of the engagement plans to meet business and marketing objectives.
- Advise the Business Engagement Lead & Business Development managers on the effective channel strategy and digital tactics, and own their end to end delivery, using appropriate internal and external resources.
- Advise on a mix of content format based on objectives and target audience.
- Oversee the creation of social content, ensuring quality and consistency in messaging to maximise impact.
- Manage the flow of content through digital channels.
- Own the reporting of digital KPIs and deriving insights to drive improvements in future campaigns.
- Provide excellent service to marketing and communication colleagues, helping them to make the most of our digital capabilities and channels.
- Bring new ideas and thinking, and monitor the marketplace for upcoming trends in campaigns, formats and technologies, to keep adding value.
- Play an active role in the team, contributing insights and best practice, and provide regular mentoring and training to upskill the wider marketing and communications team.
